Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

The Role

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for upgrading the quality management system to be complaint with the aerospace standard AS9100 and EASA Part 21 G POA and for maintaining the accreditation and continually improving the system.

 

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance policies, plans and quality procedures and operational procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standard
  • Implement POA approval and certification to EASA Part21G
  • Working with the relevant Company departments and staff to ensure successful implementation of quality assurance policies, plans and procedures
  • Writing and implementing AS9100 compliant procedures
  • Verification of compliance to quality processes by undertaking internal quality audits
  • Undertaking supplier audits to ensure compliance with required quality standards
  • Planning, implementation and monitoring of corrective measures from AS9100 audit findings
  • Manage the AS9100 accreditation audit process
  • Implement and manage the Part21G POA production certification
  • Working with and managing external auditors
  • Assessing customer quality requirements and ensuring that these are met
  • Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance on the status of the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Assurance System
  • Identification of improvements to the Quality Management System and the implementation of appropriate changes
  • Lead a cross functional team of QA and PA Engineers
  • Provide Quality Assurance/Product Assurance support to the project teams

 

Experience

Essential

  • Significant previous quality assurance experience in the aerospace sector, including implementation of an AS9100 quality management system
  • Experience in implementing quality management systems and obtaining third party accreditation is essential
  • Experience in quality assurance auditing (both internal and with suppliers)
  • Understanding the product development lifecycle
  • Experience with quality tools, including root cause and corrective action and process auditing
  • Excellent knowledge of BS EN 9100 and AS9100 Quality Assurance standards
  • Skilled in writing and implementing procedures

 

Desirable

  • Experience in software quality assurance
  • Team management experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and HSG65 management system
  • Knowledge and experience of EASA Part 21G POA requirements

 

 

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant quality assurance or technical subject
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body (IQA etc.)
  • Qualified AS9100 auditor

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000

Contract: Permanent

Working Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
