Reaction Engines is looking for a positive and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities Team.


The Role

To work as part of the Reaction Engines Facilities team to provide support to the business.

Provide a high level of customer service at all times including handling ad hoc enquiries from staff and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner, referring on to others as appropriate.

There may be a requirement for this position to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays as needed. In addition, there could be times when working at different sites within Reaction Engines may be required.


Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Buildings, Maintenance and Services

  • Culham Site buildings, as well as other sites
  • Work with the Facilities Team Leader to Collect Requirements from stakeholders, Procure, Manage Installations of building improvements and services. Working with the building(s) landlords where required
  • Arrange regular maintenance of building services. For example, Air Conditioning Systems
  • Manage onsite contractors for building improvements, Site Inductions and Work Permits
  • Office and Staff Location Planning
  • Building Supplies/Consumables Procurement, for example Cleaning Materials
  • Waste Management
  • Work with the Head of Facilities to maintain and forecast the Annual Facilities Budget
  • Overview of onsite Security, Building Alarms, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm Keyholder

Health and Safety

  • Maintain a high-level standard of Health and Safety
  • Manage the stocks of Safety Equipment and procure as required
  • First Aid & Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
  • Manage and arrange suitable H&S training
  • Perform and Implement Risk Assessments & DSE Assessments

Hospitality & Staff Support

  • Provide a reception service as and when required
  • During VIP visits, ensure all are booked into site and all checks are made
  • Hospitality & Stationery: ordering, managing and maintaining as required
  • Provide 1st Line Support to Staff and Contractors through the Facilities Service Desk
  • Working with the Facilities team to assist with Cleaning, as and when required
  • Arranging staff Site Passes, Fobs, Site Inductions for new starters and contractors


  • Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to Reaction Engines’ corporate objectives
  • Observe and comply with all company policies and procedures and for Health and Safety at Work
  • Observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with organisational aims and objectives
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation




  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Have general administration experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good levels of numeracy



  • Basic understanding of Building Services
  • Customer Service Experience




  • Qualified to ONC or equivalent experience
  • CIPD level 3 or equivalent experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely

This role attracts a competitive salary and excellent company benefits including 28 days annual leave (increasing to 30 days after 2 years’ service) plus public holidays, employee share scheme, employer matching company pension scheme, life assurance and a contribution towards onsite nursery childcare for children under 3 years of age.


Salary: £21,000 to £25,000

Contract: Permanent

Working Hours: 35 hours per week with the option of working either:-

Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1700, or

Tuesday to Friday, 0800 to 1715

Location: This role is based at our Culham site
